Charley Crockett and Jack White clash over Twin Temple controversy

A social media dispute has escalated between country singer Charley Crockett and rock musician Jack White following a controversy involving the duo Twin Temple. The conflict originated in July when Crockett removed Twin Temple, a “satanic doo-wop” group, from two tour dates. While Twin Temple claimed the removal was due to their use of “Satanic imagery,” Crockett asserted the decision was based on production requests that could not be physically accommodated and concerns regarding an all-ages audience.

Jack White entered the dispute by offering Twin Temple an opening slot for his upcoming Los Angeles show. Crockett responded on Instagram, stating he had “lost a lot of respect” for White, accusing him of using the situation to sell tickets and questioning his political outspokenness compared to his time with The White Stripes.

White issued a rebuttal by posting the full lyrics to the 1984 novelty rap song “Rappin’ Duke” by Shawn Brown. Crockett has continued to respond to the exchange, criticizing White’s past and recent public stances.
