The rumors originated from reports suggesting that funds intended for her savings were transferred into separate accounts. While Charli refuted the theft, she has moved to establish complete financial and professional independence. This shift follows her decision in March 2025 to separate her brand from her family and her subsequent choice to manage her own finances without the mediation of her parents or former managers.

Marc D'Amelio has also addressed the claims, stating they are untrue and alleging that Charli is being manipulated. He noted that communication between him and his daughter is currently conducted through legal counsel.
