Charli XCX Drops New Single “Camera” and Announces Indie‑Cinema Listening Events

British pop star Charli XCX has released “Camera,” the latest single from her upcoming seventh studio album Music, Fashion, Film, scheduled for release on July 24, 2026. The black‑and‑white video, directed by longtime collaborator Aidan Zamiri, is filmed in a single take and features French actor Vincent Cassel as a frustrated actor on a chaotic set.

The single explores Charli’s doubts about balancing music and a budding acting career, with lyrics such as “Do I wanna make music? Am I being … stupid if I try to be a girl on the screen when I’m turning 34?” The release is accompanied by a series of in‑theater listening events on Thursday in several independent cinemas, including Philadelphia, Indianapolis, Honolulu, Pasadena and Oakland. Charli will support the album with a North American arena tour beginning in September and headline appearances at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Austin City Limits.

The project’s visual package also includes a monochrome album cover featuring figures like John Cale, Marc Jacobs and Martin Scorsese, underscoring the “Music, Fashion, Film” concept that ties together her recent work in music, fashion collaborations and film projects.
