Charlie Hunnam to star in FX meta-thriller Legends

FX has ordered a new limited series titled ‘Legends,’ a meta-thriller developed by and starring Charlie Hunnam. The project reunites much of the original cast from the hit motorcycle drama ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ which aired from 2008 to 2014.

In a departure from traditional revivals, the actors will play fictionalized versions of themselves rather than reprising their original characters. The plot follows the cast as they reunite at a fan convention more than a decade after the show ended, only to face a real-world threat more dangerous than the fictional conflicts depicted in the original series.

Returning cast members include Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates, and Theo Rossi. The series is being developed alongside Jonathan Groff, who will also serve as an executive producer. Production is being handled by FX Productions and 20th Television, with the series expected to air on FX and Hulu. Original creator Kurt Sutter has given his blessing to the project but is not involved in its production.
