Charlie Kirk memorial statue vandalized in Phoenix

An eight-foot bronze memorial statue of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk was vandalized outside the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, just days after the monument was unveiled to mark the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s death.

Vandals defaced the statue with red spray paint, specifically targeting the neck—the location where Kirk was fatally shot during a 2025 speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. The vandals also defaced a nearby memorial sign, crossing out the name of Jesus and an image of a cross. Turning Point USA officials described the act as “diabolical” and noted that the perpetrators appeared to intentionally target religious symbols and the site of Kirk’s assassination.

Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow and current CEO of Turning Point USA, responded to the vandalism by vowing to restore the memorial and continue her husband’s work. Phoenix police are investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects. No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon.
