Charlie Kirk memorial vandalized in Phoenix
A bronze memorial statue of Charlie Kirk was vandalized outside the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix. The 8-foot statue, which was installed to commemorate the anniversary of Kirk's assassination, was defaced with red spray paint. The vandalism included marking an 'X' on the statue's face and targeting the neck area, where Kirk was shot.
In addition to the statue, a memorial sign was desecrated; the text was altered to replace the word ‘Jesus’ with ‘Satan’. Phoenix police reported that two individuals also attempted to set a poster on fire before fleeing the scene around 1 a.m. on September 13.
Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet described the attack as “completely beyond the pale,” noting that the vandals appeared to mock the specific manner of Kirk's death. The organization is currently working with local police and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby buildings to identify those responsible.
