Charlotte and East Carolina volleyball begin conference play

The Charlotte 49ers and East Carolina University volleyball teams are set to begin American Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, September 23. The matchup will take place at Williams Arena in Greenville, North Carolina, with a scheduled start time of 6:00 p.m. ET.

Charlotte enters the conference slate following the Clash for the Crown tournament, where they finished with a 1-1 record. Recent standout performers for the Niners include Clara Briley, who was named Freshman of the Week, and Sofia Locadia, who earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after tying a program record for blocks in four sets.

East Carolina enters the contest with a 7-5 overall record after a 2-1 performance in the No Quarter Invitational. The Pirates are led by outside hitter Ellie Pate, who currently ranks 50th nationally in kills. Following the match against Charlotte, East Carolina is scheduled to travel to Houston to face Rice on Friday, September 25.
