Charlotte FC defeats D.C. United 3-1 in second-half comeback
Charlotte FC secured a 3-1 comeback victory against D.C. United on Saturday evening, extending their unbeaten streak to three matches. Despite D.C. United taking an early lead in the 54th minute through a goal by Louis Munteanu, Charlotte responded with three consecutive goals.
David Schnegg equalized for Charlotte in the 64th minute, followed by Will Cleary’s header to take the lead. Pep Biel completed the scoring in the 77th minute with a strike after a counter-attack.
D.C. United head coach Rene Weiler attributed the team's recent poor form, including two consecutive losses, to the absence of decisive starters due to injury and frequent tactical mistakes. The team currently sits 11th in the Eastern Conference, having won only one of their last eight MLS matches.
