Charlotte Flair addresses WWE creative input and ‘difficult’ label

Professional wrestler Charlotte Flair has addressed being labeled ‘difficult’ due to her input on WWE creative decisions. Speaking on the Power Hour podcast, Flair argued that her desire to share opinions is a result of her experience and tenure in the industry rather than a personality flaw. She noted that women in the industry are sometimes unfairly branded as difficult when they express strong views.

Flair also discussed the mental shift required to transition from a competitive athlete to a professional wrestler. She explained that she previously struggled with the emotional impact of losing matches, but has since learned to view losses through a business lens. She noted that losing on television can serve the larger story and increase her value as a performer, stating, ‘Your losses are making you win as a businesswoman.’

Regarding her involvement in match construction, Flair mentioned that while WWE determines the final outcomes, she has been granted the creative freedom for several years to help determine how matches progress.
