Charlotte Hornets adjust roster with Townsend signing and Allick waiver

The Charlotte Hornets have made roster adjustments ahead of training camp, signing forward Trey Townsend to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract and waiving forward Josiah Allick.

Townsend, a 25-year-old undrafted player from Arizona, previously played in Sweden, Canada, and the G League for the Texas Legends and Salt Lake City Stars. The Hornets hold the returning-player rights for Townsend via the Greensboro Swarm. If Townsend is waived and spends at least 60 days with the Swarm, he could earn a bonus of up to $91,000.

Allick, who previously played for the Greensboro Swarm and was the 2024/25 NBL MVP in New Zealand, was signed on Monday but waived on Tuesday. These moves bring the Hornets to their offseason limit of 21 players under contract.
