Charlotte Hornets execute multiple roster moves
The Charlotte Hornets have executed several roster changes to finalize their lineup. The organization waived veteran forward Pat Connaughton to resolve a roster squeeze, as the team needed to reduce its standard contract count from 16 to 15 players. Despite internal interest in retaining Connaughton for his leadership and championship experience with the Milwaukee Bucks, the team opted to keep younger players such as Tidjane Salaun and Liam McNeeley.
In additional transactions, the Hornets waived forward Wyatt Fricks. The team also signed guard DaJuan Gordon, who had previously played in the G League, but subsequently waived him to sign guard Latrell Wrightsell. Wrightsell, an undrafted player from Alabama, is noted for his high-volume three-point shooting.
