Charlotte Hornets waive guards Rob Dillingham and Ryan Nembhard
The Charlotte Hornets have waived two young guards, Rob Dillingham and Ryan Nembhard, as the franchise works to trim its roster ahead of the upcoming NBA season.
Rob Dillingham, the former eighth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, was released shortly after being acquired from the Chicago Bulls in a trade involving Buddy Hield and cash. Dillingham, a former Kentucky standout, struggled to find a consistent rotation role during his time with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Bulls. His release leaves the Hornets with 16 players on standard contracts.
Ryan Nembhard was also waived by the organization. Nembhard had recently joined Charlotte via a transaction from Atlanta that included Buddy Hield and cash considerations. Despite his quick departure from Charlotte, reports indicate that the Denver Nuggets are among several teams monitoring his availability on the waiver wire.
