Charlotte Hornets reshape roster after LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges trades
The Charlotte Hornets completed a rapid roster overhaul, trading former point guard LaMelo Ball and forward Miles Bridges. In return they received forward Naz Reid, wing Royce O'Neale and guard Grayson Allen, adding depth and immediate talent to the lineup.
The deals also loaded Charlotte with extensive future draft capital. By 2027 the team will hold three first‑round selections – its own pick, a top‑two‑protected pick from the Dallas Mavericks and a lottery‑protected pick from the Miami Heat. Additional first‑round picks are slated for 2028 through 2033, along with a complex set of second‑round picks tied to various protections and conditional swaps. The influx of assets gives the Hornets a long‑term pathway to rebuild and add young talent.
