Charlotte Hornets star Kon Knueppel ruled out for season opener
Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel will miss the team's regular-season opener against the Brooklyn Nets due to a left hamstring strain. The injury occurred during an offseason workout in September.
While the team has not provided a specific timeline for his return, Knueppel has reportedly resumed individual on-court activities. He is among several key players making progress; Grant Williams (right hamstring) and Coby White (left calf) have also returned to individual on-court work but remain sidelined.
Head coach Charles Lee will begin the season without these three rotation players. For the opener, the Hornets' starting lineup features Dennis Schröder, Sion James, Brandon Miller, Naz Reid, and Moussa Diabaté.
