Charlotte Hornets undergo major roster overhaul for 2026-27 season

The Charlotte Hornets enter the 2026-27 season with a significantly restructured roster following a 44-38 finish last year. The team faces the challenge of replacing the playmaking of LaMelo Ball, who departed for the Minnesota Timberwolves, alongside the exit of Miles Bridges to the Phoenix Suns.

To rebuild, the Hornets added Naz Reid, Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale, and Dennis Schröder. Brandon Miller remains a central figure for the franchise after signing a five-year, $209 million extension. The young roster, anchored by Miller and Kon Knueppel, will rely on improved three-point shooting depth to contend for the playoffs.
