Charlotte Motor Speedway NASCAR qualifying canceled due to rain
Inclement weather caused by Hurricane Isaias has canceled the practice and qualifying sessions for the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Blue Cross NC 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.
Due to the cancellation, the starting lineup for the Chase race was determined using the NASCAR metric formula, which considers recent race finishes and championship points. Carson Kvapil will start from the pole position in the No. 1 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. He will be joined on the front row by Corey Day in the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.
The second row will consist of Jesse Love and Brent Crews. The top ten starters also include Sam Mayer, Taylor Gray, Austin Hill, Sheldon Creed, William Sawalich, and Rajah Caruth. While the race is currently scheduled to begin at 4:05 p.m. ET, ongoing weather conditions remain a potential threat to the event.
