Charlotte Teen Arrested with Modified Glock Machine Gun
Police in Charlotte, North Carolina arrested 17‑year‑old Tristain English after discovering a Glock pistol that had been fitted with a switch device allowing it to fire automatically at up to 20 rounds per second. The search of his home on Hanover Crossing Drive also uncovered two extended‑capacity magazines and key‑fob tools that could be used to steal vehicles.
English, already on probation for a prior shooting, now faces multiple charges, including possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a firearm by a minor and a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of tools for breaking and entering motor vehicles. A second unnamed 17‑year‑old was also taken into custody on similar charges. The arrest follows two other violent incidents involving 17‑year‑olds in Charlotte in the past week, prompting the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to request a stricter curfew for minors under 18.
