Charlotte to host WTA Finals and new WTA headquarters from 2027

The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has announced that the WTA Finals will move to Charlotte, North Carolina, starting in 2027. The tournament will be held at the Spectrum Center, home of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, for a minimum three-year period through 2029.

As part of this strategic move, the WTA will also relocate its global headquarters from Florida to Charlotte. WTA Chair Valerie Camillo stated the goal is to create a “Super Bowl for women’s sports,” aiming for greater stability and a stronger connection between the organization and its premier event.

Due to the venue's existing NBA schedule, the tournament format will be adjusted, reducing the competition from eight days to five. The 2026 edition will serve as a transition year, hosted in Indian Wells, California, following the conclusion of previous arrangements in Saudi Arabia.
