Charlotte Wessels and The Obsession announce new album

Dutch artist Charlotte Wessels and her band, now known as The Obsession, have announced the release of their second studio album, ‘Mute Swan Empire’. The album is scheduled to be released on February 5, 2027, via Napalm Records.

The 15-track project is a character-driven concept album exploring archetypes emerging at the end of the Anthropocene. The music examines various human responses to climate breakdown, social injustice, and the collapse of familiar futures, including themes of denial, rage, faith, and hope.

To support the release, Wessels will embark on her first headlining tour across Europe and the United Kingdom. The tour is set to begin on February 4, 2027, in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium.
