Charly Boy discusses accepting his daughters' sexual orientations

Veteran entertainer and social commentator Charles Oputa, known as Charly Boy, has spoken about accepting the sexual orientations of his two daughters, both of whom identify as lesbians.

In recent interviews, he noted that his youngest daughter came out years ago, while his eldest daughter shared her orientation more recently. He admitted that the news was initially difficult to process, particularly regarding his youngest daughter, as he had hoped she would have children. He contrasted this with his older daughter, a mother of six and a great-grandmother, who had already built a family.

Charly Boy emphasized that his primary concern is his daughters' happiness and independence. He stated that he does not wish to be a “rigid father” and believes that adult children should have the freedom to make their own life decisions. He noted that as long as his children are self-sufficient and living their lives, he chooses to lead with love rather than conflict.
