Charly Rodríguez prepares for Campeones Cup clash against Inter Miami

Cruz Azul midfielder Charly Rodríguez has discussed his mental recovery after being excluded from the Mexican National Team's roster for the 2026 World Cup. Despite the disappointment of missing the tournament, Rodríguez credited his family and teammates for helping him refocus, which ultimately led to him winning the Liga MX Clausura 2026 title with Cruz Azul.

Rodríguez is now preparing to face Inter Miami in the Campeones Cup at Nu Stadium. While acknowledging the high caliber of opponents such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, and Casemiro, the midfielder stated that playing against world-class talent is “challenging and motivating” rather than intimidating. Cruz Azul enters the competition following a victory over Toluca in the Campeón de Campeones tournament.
