Charlyn Corral discusses Scarlett Camberos's Ballon d'Or nomination

Mexican footballer Charlyn Corral has commented on Scarlett Camberos becoming the first Mexican player nominated for the Ballon d'Or. While Corral acknowledged that the nomination is a positive milestone for Mexican football, she suggested that media exposure plays a significant role in such recognitions.

Corral, who plays for Pachuca, noted that Camberos's club, Club América, is highly media-centric compared to her own team. Corral pointed out that despite being the world's top scorer according to IFFHS during the 2023-2025 period, she has not received similar individual honors, suggesting that her achievements at Pachuca may not receive the same level of international visibility as those playing for more prominent clubs.
