Charm Stone targets second Manikato Stakes victory

Charm Stone, the mare trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, is set to compete in the Group 1 1200m Manikato Stakes this Sunday at Caulfield. The race has been relocated from Moonee Valley to Caulfield while the Moonee Valley circuit undergoes reconstruction.

Last year, Charm Stone secured a victory in the race at Moonee Valley with jockey Blake Shinn. For this upcoming attempt, Damian Lane will take over the riding duties, as Shinn has opted to partner Geegees Mistruth.

Following a third-place finish in the Robert Sangster Stakes in April, a planned trip to Royal Ascot was cancelled due to the mare suffering from an entrapped epiglottis. Trainer Mick Price confirmed the issue has been resolved and that a trip to Royal Ascot remains a possibility for next year, depending on her future form.
