Charter Hall forms A$1.2bn logistics property partnership

Charter Hall has established a new A$1.2 billion industrial and logistics property partnership, known as Charter Hall Industrial Partnership 5, alongside Tokyo Tatemono and UBS Asset Management.

The partnership is seeded with a 335,000 square metre portfolio of six industrial properties located across Australia’s east coast. The assets include three buildings in Wetherill Park near Sydney, two properties in Brisbane, and a 20-hectare infill development site in Melbourne’s Dandenong industrial precinct.

The portfolio is primarily leased to major consumer staples businesses, including Coles, ALDI, and Coca-Cola. This transaction marks Tokyo Tatemono’s first investment with Charter Hall and its initial entry into the Australian industrial and logistics sector. Charter Hall noted that the investment is driven by long-term factors such as population growth and the increasing demand for modern supply chain infrastructure.
