Chartres-de-Bretagne inaugurates Jeannie-Longo multi-sport complex

A new multi-sport facility, named the Espace multisports Jeannie-Longo, has opened in Chartres-de-Bretagne, south of Rennes. The project involved an investment of 3 million euros and 18 months of construction.

The facility was inaugurated on September 12, 2026, by local officials including Mayor David Le Borgne and Rennes Métropole representatives. The complex includes a gymnasium, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and an infirmary, intended for use by local clubs and neighboring municipalities. Part of the funding was provided by Rennes Métropole through an ecological transition program.

The facility is named after Jeannie Longo, the thirteen-time world champion cyclist and 1996 Olympic gold medalist. The opening of this space highlights a growing sports infrastructure in the southern periphery of the Rennes agglomeration.
