Chascomús lagoon rescue saves family of four after boat capsizes
A family of four, including two minor children, was rescued from the Chascomús lagoon on Sunday afternoon after their boat capsized due to strong winds and heavy waves.
The emergency was detected by municipal monitoring center operators via surveillance cameras at the intersection of Costanera Avenue and Gonzáles Chaves. Although authorities had previously ordered the evacuation of all vessels due to unfavorable weather conditions, the family's boat was unable to return to the coast.
Lake security personnel deployed a rigid inflatable boat to reach the family in the water. After being rescued, the group was transported to the Regatas Club, where an ambulance took them to the Municipal Hospital for medical evaluation. Once their body temperatures stabilized, the family members, who are local residents, returned to their home.
