Chase Butler and Riley Rostron named in 2026 Australian Schoolboys Rugby League squad

All Saints College Maitland students Chase Butler and Riley Rostron have been selected for the 2026 Australian Schoolboys Rugby League team. The pair, who have been friends since joining the college, progressed together through school, regional and state representative levels and entered the Newcastle Knights pathways program. Their selection came after playing for the NSW Combined Catholic College side that lost 19‑18 to NSW Combined High Schools in the final, where Butler was named at halfback and Rostron as reserve fullback.

Both expressed pride in achieving the goal of wearing the green and gold jersey, acknowledging the college’s tradition of producing future NRL players. Their teammate Callum Elsey, also from the Knights SG Ball program, was named in the centre position for the Australian squad.
