Chase Sapphire Reserve Credit Card Benefits and Recent Changes
The Chase Sapphire Reserve, a premium travel rewards card, carries a $795 annual fee but offers a suite of credits that can offset much of that cost. Core benefits include a $300 travel credit that applies to most travel purchases, a $300 dining credit usable at participating restaurants through OpenTable, a $300 StubHub credit, DoorDash food and grocery credits, Apple TV+ and Apple Music credits, and a $500 credit for stays at Chase’s luxury hotel collection, The Edit. When fully utilized, these credits can provide roughly $960 in annual value.
Recent updates to the card have altered its rewards structure: the 1.5‑cent‑per‑point redemption rate through Chase Travel℠ was removed, and the broad 3× travel category was narrowed to 4× on flights and hotels only. The card still offers strong travel protections and priority‑pass lounge access, and its points continue to transfer 1:1 to Hyatt, making it valuable for travelers who can maximize the available credits.
