Chase Utley inducted into Phillies Wall of Fame

Chase Utley was honored with induction into the Philadelphia Phillies Wall of Fame during a ceremony at Citizens Bank Park. The event, delayed about 90 minutes by rain, featured a live rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” as Utley entered the field. Former teammates and Phillies legends—including Pat Burrell, Ryan Howard, Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Jimmy Rollins and former owner John Middleton—participated in the ceremony and introduced Utley’s plaque, which now hangs in the left‑field plaza.

Utley, a six‑time All‑Star and key member of the 2008 World Series championship team, spent 13 seasons with the Phillies, helping the club win five straight NL East titles from 2007 to 2011. After retiring in 2018, he became a special assistant to the president of the Los Angeles Dodgers. His speech highlighted his gratitude to teammates, coaches, and his parents, and he expressed openness to future honors such as a retired number or Hall of Fame induction.
