ChatGPT utility depends on structured prompting and category-based search
Effective business use of ChatGPT requires structured prompting rather than simple requests. To avoid generic, low-quality outputs, users should provide a five-part brief consisting of a specific role, detailed context, a clear task, a defined output format, and specific constraints.
Regarding startup visibility, research indicates a significant gap between an AI model's internal memory and its ability to recommend products via search-grounded queries. In a test of 48 AI-native startups, a model without web access could only correctly identify 8% by name. However, when asked for the best tools within specific categories without being given brand names, the model recommended 58% of the startups, including 24 that were previously unknown to it by name.
