Chaz Mostert wins rain-soaked AirTouch 500 at The Bend

Chaz Mostert and co-driver Fabian Coulthard secured victory for Walkinshaw TWG Racing at the AirTouch 500 held at The Bend. Driving the Toyota GR Supra, Mostert won the first endurance race of the Supercars season despite chaotic, rain-lashed conditions.

The race was marked by heavy rain, standing water, and three safety car periods. While Coulthard maintained contention during the treacherous opening half, Mostert built a significant lead once the track transitioned from wet tyres to slicks. The event concluded after 141 laps due to time-certain regulations.

Kai Allen and Tim Slade of Grove Racing finished second, followed by the Walkinshaw TWG pairing of Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans in third. Matt Payne, originally finishing fourth, was demoted to sixth place following a five-second penalty for late-race contact. Series leader Broc Feeney finished 24th.
