Cheb Airport to host aviation day with aerobatics and historical aircraft
Cheb Airport will host an aviation day featuring aerobatics, historical aircraft, and modern military technology. The event is supported by the city of Cheb, which has allocated 1.8 million CZK to the program.
Red Bull Air Race winner Martin Šonka will perform twice daily, demonstrating different styles of flight using both a Zlín Z-242L trainer and an Extra 300SR aerobatic aircraft. Other highlights include the Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team, which will perform close-formation maneuvers, and aerobatic displays using the LF 107 Luňák glider.
History enthusiasts can view rare aircraft, including a Corsair ‘Devotion’ with combat history from the Korean War, a 1945 P-51D Mustang, and a 1955 North American Trojan. Other scheduled machines include the Czechoslovak L-29 Delfín, Marchetti aircraft from Italy, and various technical displays from LOM Praha. The Czech Air Force is also expected to present equipment such as the Mi-17 helicopter and the CASA C-295M transport aircraft.
In addition to aerial displays, visitors can participate in sightseeing flights via aircraft and helicopters, explore a children's Fun Park, and view various technical exhibits.
