Check Point reports Microsoft‑led phishing surge, launches Ghana cyber academy

Check Point Research’s Q2 2026 Brand Phishing Ranking shows Microsoft was the most impersonated brand, accounting for roughly 23% of all brand phishing attempts, far ahead of the next targets. The report also notes the first appearance of OpenAI’s ChatGPT among the top ten impersonated brands, reflecting a shift toward AI platforms as phishing vectors.

In parallel, Check Point announced the launch of Ghana’s first Secure Academy in partnership with the Kingrich Foundation. The program aims to close the country’s cyber‑skills gap by providing prevention‑first training and certifications across more than 290 institutions worldwide, supporting Ghana’s national cybersecurity strategy and its growing digital economy.
