Checkout.com expands into in-person payments
Global payments company Checkout.com has announced its expansion into the in-person payments sector, citing high demand from enterprise merchants for the same performance and resilience found in its online acquiring platform.
The company is utilizing a software-led, device-agnostic approach, allowing merchants to use their existing hardware or select new terminals without being tied to a single provider. This modularity is intended to offer greater operational flexibility.
As part of this rollout, European payments platform Mollie is partnering with Checkout.com. Mollie will combine its local expertise and merchant relationships with Checkout.com’s acquiring platform. This partnership allows businesses to process both online and in-person transactions through a single acquiring relationship, utilizing a unified API, platform, and settlement infrastructure.
