Sergio Perez penalty strips Cadillac of first F1 point at Monaco

Sergio Pérez finished the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix in tenth place, which would have earned the new Cadillac Formula 1 team its first championship point. Hours after the race, FIA stewards applied a 10‑second time penalty for a grid‑position infringement on the restart – the front‑right wheel of his car was outside the designated start box. The penalty dropped Pérez to 15th, removing the point.

The reallocation promoted Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin into the points, giving the Spanish driver his first point of the season and moving Aston Martin ahead of Cadillac in the constructors’ standings. Cadillac team director Graeme Lowdon praised the effort, noting the difficult race conditions and the team's progress despite the setback.
