Cheddi Jagan International Airport investigating product confiscation complaint

The Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation (CJIAC) has launched an investigation into a passenger's complaint regarding the confiscation of an edge-control hair-styling product at a security checkpoint.

Following a social media post about the incident, the CJIAC stated it is reviewing the circumstances with urgency. The corporation noted that standard security procedures require items exceeding permitted limits to be placed in designated collection containers. It also referenced the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) 3-1-1 rule, which restricts liquids, gels, and aerosols to containers of 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less.

CJIAC reminded travelers that filming is prohibited in security-sensitive areas to protect the privacy and safety of staff and passengers. The corporation intends to provide the passenger with detailed findings once the review is complete.
