Cheddy García closes company following Instagram account loss

Dominican comedian and actress Cheddy García has announced the closure of her company, Rizos Cheddy, and the dismissal of her entire staff following the loss of her Instagram account. García claims the loss of the profile, which she has been unable to access for approximately five months, has caused severe economic damage, including unfulfilled advertising commitments and the loss of stored products.

García holds entrepreneur and communicator Santiago Matías, known as Alofoke, responsible for the situation. She alleges that Matías encouraged his followers to report her account during a digital broadcast. Consequently, García has filed a civil lawsuit against Matías seeking RD$60 million in damages and losses.

In her statements, García criticized the public's reaction, describing a perceived lack of solidarity and a tendency among some citizens to justify the actions of influential figures to avoid conflict.
