Cheese-Jazz Festival at Castello di Cisterna and Vesuvio Stargazing Night Highlight Italian Culture

On Friday 10 July, the Castello di Cisterna hosted the opening night of the Cheeseterna festival. The event combined New‑Orleans‑style jazz with a cheese‑focused menu featuring products from the Persia dairy of Cavallermaggiore. Guests enjoyed live performances by Chiara Gallino, Beppe Rosso and others, local wines, and a guided night tour of the museum, all for €30 including dinner and wine.

Later, on Thursday 23 July, the farm La Castelluccia in Massa di Somma organized “Sotto le stelle del Vesuvio”, a stargazing dinner that paired volcanic‑inspired dishes with guided astronomical observations. The Unione Astrofili Napoletani provided telescopes for viewing constellations and lunar craters. Organizers said, “La nostra idea … è quella di offrire il nostro spazio, dove quotidianamente si fa agricoltura biologica, per eventi che permettono di ritrovare il rapporto con la natura, con il territorio e con la cultura.” Both events celebrated regional food, music and science in a festive setting.
