Chef Adam Pechal Arrested on Felony Domestic Violence Charge in Sacramento

Chef Adam Pechal, a 50‑year‑old California culinary figure who rose to fame after appearing on ABC’s The Taste and working with the late Anthony Bourdain, was taken into custody on Wednesday night in an Arden‑Arcade home. A woman called Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies alleging physical assault; deputies arrested Pechal on suspicion of felony domestic‑violence after she was medically evaluated and cleared.

He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail early Thursday with bail set at $50,000 and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Friday in Sacramento Superior Court. Pechal, known for operating Tuli Bistro, Thir13en and Tuli Catering and for designing the menu for Local Flights at Sacramento International Airport in 2025, has also worked as a private chef for Sacramento Kings players. The arrest marks a dramatic downturn for the chef whose career was once propelled by his association with Bourdain.
