Chef Alberto Quadrio departs L’Albereta to focus on culinary teaching in Italy

Chef Alberto Quadrio has ended his collaboration with L’Albereta Relais & Châteaux after several years, citing divergent visions for the restaurant’s future and the incompatibility of his teaching duties with the executive chef role. The split was announced on 1 August 2026.

Quadrio will concentrate on culinary education in Italy, continuing his work as a lecturer at Cast Alimenti in Brescia. He emphasized that teaching allows him to pass on the skills acquired alongside renowned chefs such as Gualtiero Marchesi, Pietro Leemann, Matteo Torretta, and Alain Ducasse.

L’Albereta said the restaurant will maintain continuity of the L’Aurum project, with its internal brigade taking over kitchen leadership. Quadrio’s career includes stints at prestigious venues like Joia, Asola, Capri Palace, Narisawa in Tokyo, Disfrutar in Barcelona, and Geranium in Copenhagen before returning to the Franciacorta resort two years ago.
