Chef Angelo Genna wins Tuna Fish Fest 2026

Chef Angelo Genna won the sixth edition of the Tuna Fish Fest 2026, an international culinary competition held at the Tonnara di Bonagia in Valderice. The event, themed “Tuna and Blue Fish: Culture and Taste,” was organized by the Associazione Bonagia Eventi & Promotion APS.

Genna secured victory by reinterpreting traditional flavors from Marsala through contemporary gourmet techniques. He competed against three other international chefs: Violetta Sudo from Poland, Mohamed Yubarain representing Gambia, and Mona Sciacca representing Tunisia. Each participant was tasked with interpreting tuna or blue fish through the lens of their own national culinary traditions.

The judging panel, led by Massimo Picciotto, evaluated the entries based on the quality of raw materials, cooking techniques, taste, presentation, and originality.
