Chef Damián Betular narrowly avoids injury during birthday celebration

Argentine pastry chef and MasterChef Argentina judge Damián Betular experienced a close call during his 44th birthday celebration. While attempting to blow out candles on an elongated cake decorated with 44 candles and several sparklers, the flames from the sparklers came dangerously close to his hair.

In addition to the risk of fire, the smoke produced by the sparklers caused Betular to cough and struggle for breath. The incident was captured on video and shared by Nati Jota, a presenter and former colleague of the chef, who posted the footage on social media with an affectionate message.
