Chef Enrico Cosentino named Magister di civiltà Amalfitana
Chef Enrico Cosentino has been named the ‘Magister di civiltà Amalfitana’ for the 26th edition of the Capodanno Bizantino, scheduled to take place between Amalfi and Atrani from August 31 to September 2, 2026.
Cosentino is recognized for his significant impact on Italian gastronomy, most notably for inventing ‘Scialatielli’ in 1976. This handmade pasta, characterized by its short, thick, and irregular shape, has become a global culinary staple produced by hundreds of pasta makers across five continents. The award recognizes his fifty-year career as a chef, educator, and talent scout who helped export Campania's culinary culture worldwide.
The official conferment ceremony will take place on September 1, 2026, as part of the celebrations honoring the gastronomic traditions of the Amalfi Coast.
