Chef Fernanda Fuentes weeps during MasterChef Chile elimination

During a recent episode of MasterChef Chile on TVN, judge Fernanda Fuentes and host María Luisa Godoy were visibly moved to tears following the elimination of contestant Alicia Pacheco.

After a cooking challenge centered on trout, Pacheco was among three contestants in the risk zone alongside Hugo Vásquez and Regina Cazor. Pacheco was ultimately eliminated after her ‘trucha croqueta’ failed to satisfy the judges.

Host María Luisa Godoy highlighted Pacheco’s personal resilience, noting her history of overcoming significant hardships, including the loss of her husband and the loss of her home, while raising a son with Down syndrome. Fuentes expressed deep emotional distress during the farewell, noting that Pacheco had acted in a maternal role toward the other contestants, which resonated personally with the chef.
