Chef Ferran Adrià criticizes lack of Spanish products in luxury hotel breakfasts
Renowned chef Ferran Adrià has expressed confusion regarding the lack of Spanish products served during breakfasts at four- and five-star hotels in Spain. Speaking at the Turium International Forum, Adrià noted that many hotel buffets fail to showcase the country's local pantry.
As an example, he highlighted the presence of Modena vinegar in Spanish hotels instead of Sherry vinegar, questioning why an Italian hotel would serve Sherry vinegar. Adrià suggested that at least half of the breakfast products should be Spanish, though he acknowledged the administrative challenges of implementing such a requirement.
Additionally, the chef advocated for better food quality in three-star hotels, expressing a desire for high-quality dining to be affordable and accessible to a wider range of people.
