Chef Giorgio Barchiesi's Grosseto charity cook‑off raises €9.9k for hospital gastroscope

On 27 August, chef Giorgio Barchiesi – known as “Giorgione” – hosted a charity cooking show at the Tresort venue in Grosseto, Italy. The event attracted close to 300 participants who enjoyed a menu of local specialties and a subsequent buffet.

The program generated a record‑breaking €9,855 in donations for the association Insieme in Rosa. All proceeds are earmarked to purchase a high‑definition gastroscope for the Misericordia Hospital in Grosseto, intended to improve early diagnosis of digestive‑tract cancers.

Organisers highlighted the collaboration between local food producers, wineries and volunteers, emphasizing the community’s commitment to health‑related charitable projects.
