Sweden benefit reform faces criticism over poverty impact
Sweden's new benefit cap is facing sharp criticism for its impact on the country's most vulnerable populations. Critics, including Malmö municipal councilor Katrin Stjernfelt Jammeh, argue that while the reform aims to incentivize employment, it risks increasing hunger and poverty among children.
Additionally, recent studies highlight growing social disparities in Sweden, noting that the life expectancy gap between the wealthiest and poorest citizens has more than tripled since the 1960s.
