Chef Mario Kalpou launches adventure series Deadliest Dinners Australia
Sydney-born chef Mario Kalpou is launching a new action-adventure travelogue series titled ‘Deadliest Dinners Australia’. Following his US success with ‘Man Eats Wild’, Kalpou is returning to his roots with a show that emphasizes high-adrenaline food procurement.
Across eight episodes, Kalpou engages in extreme activities such as hunting wild buffalo, dodging sharks and crocodiles, and abseiling down cliffs to fish. The series also features him marooned on a raft on the Great Barrier Reef. Kalpou, who previously operated the Zagat-awarded Old Library restaurant in Cronulla, aims to move away from traditional, slower-paced cooking segments by combining survivalist challenges with culinary preparation.
