Chega party files labor complaints regarding Madeira health workers

The Chega Madeira political party has initiated formal inquiries with the Labor Inspection, the SESARAM Board of Directors, and regional authorities following complaints from Health Auxiliary Technicians (TAS). The party alleges significant labor irregularities and deteriorating working conditions within the regional health system.

Key issues identified include the loss of seniority points during the transition to the TAS career path, which the party claims has compromised salary progression for long-serving professionals. It is reported that some employees with over 20 years of service are earning nearly the same as new recruits.

Additionally, the party highlighted unresolved disputes regarding compensation for work performed on holidays and a lack of compensatory rest. Concerns were also raised regarding staff shortages and workload, with allegations that some technicians are responsible for multiple rooms simultaneously or are left to manage the transport of heavy equipment and patients alone.
