Cheikh Baba Diallo strengthens Senegal-Indonesia ties through spiritual diplomacy

Cheikh Baba Diallo, leader of the Liwahoul Hamdi International Federation and the Solution Bay Spirituality movement, led a delegation to Jakarta to foster closer relations between Senegal and Indonesia. During an official visit, Diallo met with Indonesian Foreign Minister Muhammad Anis Matta to advocate for the development of virtuous human capital as a foundation for sustainable progress.

The mission resulted in intentions for significant Indonesian government and private sector investments in Senegal. These investments are expected to target education, healthcare, social support, cultural action, and community development.

Additionally, the delegation met with Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar and representatives from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). The discussions focused on shared Islamic values, specifically promoting a peaceful, moderate, and tolerant interpretation of Islam rooted in the Maliki school and Sufism. The parties explored cooperation in Islamic economics, scholarly exchange programs, and addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and environmental preservation.
